The Brian Center of Alleghany has been caring for the community since 1990. The 89-bed skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and long-term care center has consistently been one of the top-rated centers in Virginia.

The Brian Center of Alleghany is the number one skilled nursing facilities in Virginia by the Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services Five-Star Rating Program, and data compiled and analyzed for long-term trends by the America Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).

The Brian Center of Alleghany was recently named to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 list of “Best Nursing Homes.” 

Throughout the years, the center has continued to meet the changing needs and continuum of care required by today’s health care needs. In addition to traditional long-term care services, the Brian Center Alleghany offers premier short-term rehabilitation services and skilled nursing.

Additionally, the Brian Center of Alleghany offers outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy services. The outpatient therapy services will focus on fall prevention and recovery, strength/balance training, post-COVID recovery, post-stroke rehab, joint replacement therapy, and related therapies. 

The center is located within easy access of a local hospital and interstate roadways.

Physical, Occupational, & Speech Therapy

Whether as a result of a trauma, disease, stroke, surgery or chronic condition, when mobility, function or cognitive abilities are impaired, rehabilitation is often the pathway to recovery, renewed independence and quality of life.

Daily Activities with Certified Activity Manager

We make it a priority to keep residents engaged, interested, and active to the fullest extent possible. Short-term and long-term residents alike enjoy a full complement of social and recreational activities designed to keep hands nimble, bodies moving, minds active and spirits up. 

IV Therapy

Our dedicated care team provides in-house IV therapy to help ensure residents are well hydrated and receiving micronutrients, pain relief and addressing infections. Our team works closely with a resident’s physician to ensure a speedy recovery.

Cognitive-Based Care & Activities

Our approach to caring for residents with cognitive-based challenges is one of understanding, care, and patience. All employees receive training to care for residents facing memory challenges, and our safety measures help secure your loved in a safe and secure environment.

Dietary & Nutritional Management

Our Dietary team follow each resident’s care plan to provide nutritious meals, snacks, and refreshments to ensure each resident has adequate nutrition. 

Medication Management

In-house treatment and pain management techniques include ultrasound, electrical stimulation, whirlpool, cold and heat therapy, as well as physical therapy and psychological support.

Comprehensive Wound Care

Our care teams are trained to assess and treat wounds to allow for healing as quickly as possible. Our person-centered care approach for wound care is aimed at preventing further wounds and promoting self-care to ensure proper wound healing and treatment.
