Roanoke, VA – U.S. News & World Report has ranked more than 15,000 nursing homes in their annual “Best Nursing Home” list and two Kissito Healthcare centers have landed on this prestigious annual listing. The Kissito Healthcare Centers Alleghany and Fincastle have been named by the U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 list of “Best Nursing Homes.”
To be on the list, centers must earn a short-term rehabilitation or a long-term care rating. To be recognized as one of the 2024 U.S. News Best Nursing Homes, a home must have been “High Performing” in short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, or both. Out of the 15,007 nursing homes evaluated, only 19% met those criteria.
“The teams in both Alleghany and Fincastle are excelling at providing top-notch quality care of our residents, families, and these communities,” said Robert McClintic, Kissito Healthcare CEO. “We are blessed to have such dedicated and caring teams at all of our centers that provide quality care daily.”
The short-term rehabilitation rating is based on the assessment of 10 quality measures focusing on staffing, medical outcomes, resident complaints, and care provided to residents who spent 100 days or fewer at a skilled nursing facility (SNF) for a stroke or accident, joint replacement, or other rehabilitation-focused recovery, while the long-term care rating looked at processes of care for residents who spent more than 100 days in a SNF.
The Brian Center Alleghany received a High Performing rating for their long-term care services and the Brian Center Fincastle received a High Performing rating for short-term care services.
“We are so proud of these teams and this distinction shows our continuing commitment to improving the lives of our residents,” McClintic said.
