Mulberry Creek Nursing & Rehab, Assisted Living hosts Fall Festival

Martinsville, VA: Mulberry Creek Nursing and Rehab Center along with Mulberry Creek Assisted Living will host a Fall Festival this Saturday, October 29th. The festival will be from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on their campus located at 300 and 400 Blue Ridge Street in Martinsville, VA. This event is open to the public to enjoy all the fun activities with residents and staff.

“We invite everyone to come join us for our Fall Festival this Saturday,” said Amanda Gray, Area Market Coordinator for Kissito Healthcare who operates Mulberry Creek Nursing and Rehab and Assisted Living. “We are very excited as some of our staff members will be displaying their talent!”

Mulberry Creek Social Worker, Lauren Pate, will sing country and religious music at 10:30 a.m. Gospel group “One Day at a Time” will perform from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Mulberry Creek Physical Therapist, Christopher Staples, will show off his breakdancing skills from 12:30 p.m. – 1 p.m. and local popular musician, Jake Earles, will close the Fall Festival by singing from 1 p.m. – 2 pm.

Local food vendors that will be in attendance are Malloy Dogz who will be serving hot dogs, Daily Grind will have their doughnuts, coffee and specialty drinks, and Lucky Venable’s fried fish.

The Kid Zone will include an inflatable obstacle course and bounce house, face painting, free pumpkin craft, cookie decorating station, rock painting, popcorn, games and more. Attendees can receive complimentary picture strips from vendor Memory Lane Photo Booth. The pumpkin, cookie and rock painting crafts are limited quantity so please come early to ensure you receive them.

Multiple craft and other vendors will be in attendance: Scentsy, wreaths, Urban Curve, Nursing Galore Boutique, Black Willow Soap Company, Paparazzi, Sew What!, Ordinary Charms, Peacefully Wicked Candles and Freda Scott will be selling homemade wooden and hand sewn items.

“We are still accepting vendors so if anyone would like to sign up, please contact Amanda.Gray@kissito.org or call 276.358.0280,” said Gray. “It is free to have a booth we just ask that you please provide your own tables and chairs.”

Several vehicles will be set up for the Trunk-or-Treat which will happen at both the Assisted Living and Nursing and Rehab Center. Staff members are looking forward to decorating their cars along with partner agencies such as SOVAH Home Health, Amedisys Hospice, Amedisys Home Health, and Nelson Automotive Rentals.

Attendees can tour a limited area of the building where they will see the private and semi-private rooms that have been renovated. A job fair and yard sale will also be going on during the festival. There will be a shuttle available to take attendees between the Assisted Living and the Nursing & Rehab Center.
