Roanoke, VA – Kissito Healthcare is excited to announce Wendy Poague as the new Regional Director of Clinical Services. She will support all eight Kissito Healthcare locations with her clinical expertise and incremental in moving the team forward with quality initiatives.
Poague is no stranger to Kissito Healthcare as she has most recently served as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Brian Center Alleghany in Low Moor, VA since October 2021 when she received her Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license.
She started her health care career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Brian Center Alleghany in 1995 before becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse and eventually a Registered Nurse in 2001. From 2001 until 2016, Poague spent time as staff nurse at Roanoke Memorial in the Neuro trauma PCU and ICU, obtained a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the Jefferson College of Health Sciences in 2011, and as a Clinical Administrator at Roanoke Memorial.
In August 2016, she accepted the position as Director of Nursing at the Brian Center Alleghany, the very same center her healthcare began. She served as the Regional Director of Clinical Services in August 2020 before beginning her Administrator-in-Training program a year later.
Poague is currently working on a master’s degree in Executive Leadership.
She was born and raised in Alleghany and married with two children. The couple have a daughter who is a nurse for Kissito Healthcare and a son who is a paratrooper in the United States Army. They recently welcomed their first grandson.
